Powerline Stringing

Service Overview

Meridian Helicopters aerial stringing operations are managed directly by Chief Pilot Geoff Keir who has extensive experience of over a decade in powerline maintenance and construction practices and methods.

Aerial helicopter stringing has become one of the most efficient, cost-effective methods to string conductors on to transmission towers and poles.

Using a helicopter to string powerlines reduces the environmental impact of the construction, as the line can be strung over ecologically or culturally sensitive areas.

It also minimises the need for heavy machinery and other
vehicles on the ground along the alignment and reduces the
time required to complete the job.
